How We Research Digital Pianos

By

Every page on PianoRanked is built the same way. This is the method, step by step, so you can judge the pages by it.

Where the facts come from

Every spec comes from the maker’s own published pages: Yamaha, Roland, Kawai, Casio, Korg, Nord, Donner and the rest. We don’t take specs from shops or from other reviews. If a maker’s page doesn’t list something, the page says “not listed” rather than guessing. The maker pages are linked from the pages that cite them.

What owners and reviewers add

Published reviews and owner reports fill in what a spec sheet can’t: how the keys hold up, what a speaker sounds like in a room, what goes wrong. We read them, summarize them and name them. We never present them as our own testing, because we haven’t played the pianos, and every review says so near the top.

How a guide is built

A guide starts with a reader and a budget: a first piano for a beginner, a cabinet for a living room, a stage keyboard for a band. Within that, pianos are weighed in a fixed order: the keys first, because they’re the part you can’t upgrade; then the sound; then the speakers; then the connections; then the weight. Accessory guides, for benches, stands, lamps and headphones, use their own measures, stated on the page. Every guide names one pick and says who should skip it.

Offers

Before a page goes live, every product on it is checked for a current offer on Amazon US, signed out, from New York. A product without a featured offer gets no button. Offers are rechecked, and a product that loses its offer loses its button, or its place.

Prices

We don’t print prices, because they change daily. Guides use budget bands, and the button opens today’s price on Amazon.

Photos and videos

Every product photo is the maker’s own: never flipped, never enlarged, and the main photo shows the finish the button opens. Videos are the makers’ own demonstrations.

Dates and corrections

Every guide, comparison, review and lesson carries its published and updated dates, and the updated date moves only when the content changes. Write to hello@pianoranked.com about an error; corrections are made and the date moves.

What we don’t do

No hands-on claims, no star ratings, no prices, and no paid placements, sponsored rankings or brand partnerships.
